There are a variety of different ways to safely and legally utilize Texas roadways. Unfortunately, the action of some drivers place others at risk, especially when motorcyclists are involved. When car accidents do involve motorcycles, the lack of relative protection often leaves riders facing serious injuries.

In fact, a recent crash involving a passenger vehicle and a motorcycle resulted in a fatality. According to reports, the incident happened just before 6 p.m. on a day in August. Officials claim that a 31-year-old woman pulled out of a driveway into the path of a motorcyclist.

The motorcyclist was transported to the hospital by ambulance but was later flown to a different facility. Unfortunately, he passed away as a result of his injuries; the release of the man’s identity was delayed pending notification of his family. The driver was uninjured but she now faces criminal charges.

Now a family must face the tragic news of the sudden and likely preventable death of their loved one. While law enforcement officials will pursue justice in a criminal court, surviving family members have the option of seeking monetary damages in a civil court. Many families in Texas and across the country suffering due to car accidents caused by other drivers are often unsure of their legal options. Fortunately, there are legal professionals who can help them. While a successful lawsuit will do little to relieve their grief, it could provide them the necessary financial security to allow the to focus on their recovery rather than their bills.
