One man certainly has his criminal defense on his mind after recently being taken into custody in Texas. According to reports, law enforcement agencies have been working to uncover drug-related activity, and an officer apparently stopped the man while he was driving a vehicle. It was unclear what the initial reason for the traffic stop was, but nonetheless, a K-9 officer was utilized, presumably, to determine whether there may have been illegal substances in the vehicle.
A search of the vehicle resulted in authorities finding 29 kilograms of cocaine. It was suggested that the street value of that amount is $1.4 million. The suspect was reported as being a 50-year-old man, and he was taken into custody on a first-degree felony charge of manufacturing/delivery of a controlled substance and a second-degree felony charge of unlawful use of a criminal instrument.
