Fatality, serious injuries result from crash caused by racing

When people break the law, there is a chance that they are putting other people in danger. This idea may be particularly true when individuals do not follow traffic laws, and speeding, racing, running red lights and other violations could easily cause car accidents that result in serious injuries. Unfortunately, innocent victims often suffer harm.

It was recently reported that racing appears to be the cause of a Texas crash that proved fatal. According to reports, two vehicles were racing, and one of the drivers lost control of the vehicle. That vehicle then collided with a third vehicle that was not involved in the race. The driver of the other racing vehicle fled the scene. There were apparently two people in the racing vehicle and two in the vehicle that was hit.

The incident resulted in a passenger in the racing vehicle suffering fatal injuries, and the driver of that vehicle was in critical condition at the time of the report. The two people in the vehicle that was hit were also reported as being in serious condition. Additional information regarding the incident may be available at a later time.

Suffering serious injuries in a car accident can cause major setbacks, and the family of a person who was killed in a crash can certainly face difficulties of their own. Because racing was a contributing factor in this Texas accident, it is likely that the driver considered at fault could face civil legal claims from the injured parties and the family of the deceased victim. Personal injury and wrongful death claims could allow the negatively affected individuals to pursue compensation for allowable damages.
