Intersections require drivers to be especially cautious and alert. A collision on a Texas highway near an intersection on a recent Friday resulted in a fatality, as well as injuries to several other people. There were reportedly three vehicles involved in the crash.

Fort Worth police responded to the scene

Just after 10:30 a.m. police were summoned to the scene of the collision. One of the vehicles involved in the crash was a big rig. The other two vehicles were both trucks as well, although not 18-wheelers. Investigators say that a 44-year-old woman who was traveling in the flatbed truck was pronounced dead at the scene.

Rescuers transported several others to a local hospital

Three other people also suffered injuries in the collision. Thankfully, they were listed in stable condition upon arrival to the hospital. The roadway was closed to traffic in the aftermath of the crash and remained shut down in both directions for several hours. Police advised motorists to seek alternate routes; otherwise, they could expect significant delays in their travel time.

An investigation is ongoing

As is common in Texas collisions resulting in a fatality or injuries, investigators in this case are still working to determine exactly what or who may have caused the collision. Many fatal accidents are later determined to have been caused by driver negligence. In such cases, it is not uncommon for an immediate family member of a decedent to seek financial recovery for their losses by filing a wrongful death claim in a civil court.
