Texas roadways can be especially dangerous at night, particularly if a driver is sleepy or was drinking alcohol before getting behind the wheel. At approximately 12:30 a.m. on a recent Sunday, a vehicle collided with several other cars. The results of the Texas crash were tragic.

Witnesses say driver was being erratic on the road

In the aftermath of a collision, police often respond to the scene and speak with witnesses who saw what happened. In this case, deputies were told that the driver who believed to have been responsible for the crash had been driving erratically moments before the crash. Witnesses say they saw the man’s vehicle moving in and out of lanes several times before it hit two other cars and crashed into a retaining wall.

The drivers of the other cars had no physical injuries

When the vehicle hit the retaining wall, it rolled over before coming to a halt. While no one in the other two cars suffered physical injuries in the collision, the passenger in the car that collided with them was not so fortunate. While he died at the scene.

Investigators suspect that alcohol may have been a factor

Police say they’re looking into whether alcohol may have been a factor in the fatal Texas collision. Learning that a loved one has died in a motor vehicle crash is devastating. When a family also learns that the collision that caused the accident was avoidable and was caused by driver negligence, it merely intensifies their grief. Many families seek restitution by filing wrongful death claims in civil court against those deemed responsible for damages.
