In the wee hours of a recent Friday morning, Texas police were called to an accident scene in Lubbock. There were reportedly three vehicles involved in the crash. Numerous people suffered injuries.

A 41-year-old man is said to have been traveling in a southbound direction in his vehicle that was towing a boat on a trailer. On top of the boat was a stack of wooden pallets. Some of these pallets fell off of the trailer while the man was driving down the highway.

A Chevy van tried to avert a collision

The man who was towing the boat stopped his vehicle in the roadway and exited his car to try to retrieve the wooden pallets. A Chevy van, driven by a 33-year-old man, swerved to try to avoid a collision. The attempted maneuver was unsuccessful. The van hit the trailer and the man who was in the roadway. Moments later, another vehicle struck the van.

All three drivers suffered injuries

The man who was standing in the roadway suffered serious injuries in the collision. The other two drivers also suffered injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Collisions like this often occur because of driver negligence. When that is the case, anyone who has suffered injuries due to another driver’s negligence may seek restitution by filing a personal injury claim in a Texas civil court.
