Similar collisions in the past were caused by distracted or drunk driving

While no details have been provided regarding the exact cause of the recent fatal collision that sent eight people to the hospital for emergency care, similar accidents in the past have often been caused by distracted or drunk drivers. Another issue that often results in motor vehicle collisions is drivers who fall asleep at the wheel. Collisions caused by driver negligence or reckless driving behavior often lead to litigation in civil court.

Who can file a personal injury claim after a fatal collision?

A person who is recovering from injury in a Texas car accident can seek restitution for damages by filing a personal injury claim in a civil court. After a fatal accident, an immediate family member of the decedent may have grounds to pursue financial recovery for damages, which may include emotional pain and suffering, loss of consortium, loss of present and future potential income and more. Anyone considering filing such a claim may seek support ahead of time by requesting a meeting with an experienced personal injury law attorney.
