On Behalf of | Oct 12, 2022 | Criminal Defense |

Two people in Texas were taken into police custody on a recent Thursday. Investigators were monitoring their comings and goings for some time and claim that both people have been involved in illegal drug activities. A supposed informant is said to have purchased drugs from the defendants on multiple occasions in Fort Worth. The drug charges filed include possession of fentanyl with intent to distribute.

Police say that one of the defendants was heard telling the alleged informant that he had a substantial number of fentanyl pills for sale. Investigators also allege that the same defendant told the supposed informant that he would have his girlfriend deliver the drugs to him. Authorities claim that the man was later arrested with the alleged pills when he showed up at the agreed-upon location.

Vehicle occupant was also arrested

When police took the man into custody, they also arrested another occupant in the man’s vehicle. There were reportedly several firearms in the vehicle, as well. At some point, police searched the home of one of the defendants and claim to have seized $100,000 in cash, numerous guns and several types of illegal drugs.

Strong defense support is available

The key to obtaining the best possible when facing drug charges in a Texas court is to seek experienced legal support immediately after an arrest has taken place. Having an attorney by one’s side makes criminal proceedings less stressful. It is also a means of ensuring that an accused individual’s legal rights are protected, especially for someone who is not fully aware of those rights in relation to any pending criminal charges.
