Texas authorities took driver into custody after crash

A tragedy occurred on a recent Sunday morning in Texas that will change a family’s life forever. The incident involved two pedestrians and a motorist. Sadly, a child died.

A 20-year-old woman was traveling on foot with a 5-year-old child when a vehicle struck them. Rescuers arrived soon after to transport both victims to a hospital. The woman was listed in serious condition. No updates have been provided since then, but hopefully, she will recover. Tragically, the child died on the way to the hospital.

Driver fled the scene

After hitting the pedestrians in the roadway, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene. As often happens in cases of hit-and-run, police located the man who had been behind the wheel when the collision occurred several minutes later. They took him into custody and bail was set at $350, 000. He will also face charges for leaving the scene of an accident.

Nothing can compensate for the loss of a child

All the money in the world would not be able to compensate a grieving family’s loss as they lay a child to rest following a Texas motor vehicle accident. The man deemed responsible for this tragedy is now facing charges for an accident that resulted in a fatality and caused serious injuries to two others. When a family loses a loved one under such circumstances, a parent, spouse or adult child may file a wrongful death claim in a civil court to seek a monetary judgment for documented financial losses.
